The height of the houses can reach 50 meter above the land.Building the houses on the trees constitute their customs that have been hereditary, as well as natural factors that make them feel safer to live on the trees. The people of Korowai tribe build their house on very high trees to avoid disturbance to wild animals, and for the strategy of hunting; on the trees they can freely control the deer and wild boar that come under the houses. They build the houses using the materials available in the forest such as wood, rattan, roots, and twigs that the can find in the the swamps and forests around them. It is amazing that the people of korowai tribe can design the unique and beautiful house on the trees. The interesting thing is that the houses built are strong. The awareness of the korowai tribe to keep the forest natural is very high. They select the materials to build the houses without destroying the forest. That is why the forest is still natural.
